NYE Doth Come!

The thing I love about NYE is that its the one time of year, besides Halloween, where its socially acceptable for women to dress to be seen. Every chick, no matter what level of ratchet or basicness, will try their damnest to look the very best they can. So lets you're planning a big night out with the girls. Or maybe a small get together at your place. Whatever the case, if you're planning on wearing that same old funky LBD number don't you dare! Its a cop out. We're going into yet another new year so why start it off with that same old dusty ass i don't get out much, can you tell? ensemble? Here's a couple ideas to get you off in the right direction, so burn that thing and read on:

Baroque Bodycon Dress- $116 USD

The baroque print sets this dress all the way off. What makes it even better is the fact that its gold, which is the perfect color of anything you plan on wearing at night. Colors like gold catch people's eye, which is exactly what you want to go for. The best part of this dress is that the design and much of the background color is sequinned *drools*

Matthew Williamson Futuristic Cocktail Dress- $3500 USD

You want to stand out from the rest of the Bodyshop Divas? Wear something like this. I love love LOVE this dress. The sweetheart neckline, nipped waist *sigh* The idea is to rock something that everybody won't have on. Try more out the box colors, everybody and they mama will be wearing: gold, black, silver, or some black and white combination. Go against the grain.

Vivienne Westwood Fond Dress- $460 UDS

I love this Art Deco inspired print. Its so far from the flashy polyester blended monstrosities that most females wear out on NYE. I also can appreciate the complexity of it, that's what make it so chic. With the right shoes, accessories, hair, and makeup gurrrrrrrrrl!

Badgley Mischka Feather Embellished Sequin Strapless- $215 USD

Feathers AND sequins? Hecka yes!!! The boldness of this dress lies in the feathers, I absolutely love it. Any type of feather anywhere I'm all for it. You can take a simple dress and make it shoot to the stars with something daring like a feather. And it doesn't necessarily have to be
on your dress, it could be on a shoe, earring, or hair accessory. But don't overdo it.

Notte by Marchesa Strapless Silk Dress- $750 USD

Ruffles done the right way? Flawless. This dress is def that. Make sure if you're going to do a ruffle its in the right material. This dress is silk, so when you move it flows well. And also be sure its not in somewhere, well, dumb. A ruffle near an armpit or under a boob is just awkward.


DON'T look for your ensemble at Forever 21, you're bound to run into somebody with the same outfit as you. Be selective, make sure whatever you wear is comfortable, AND FITS YOU WELL. If you don't love how you look and feel in it, don't buy it. Please, pleeeease no ratchet wear. Be safe and have fun ladies (and select number of gentlemen who are just that bold) :)
